The district is #MineolaProud to celebrate the Mineola Mustangs Marching Band for achieving an incredible milestone: winning the New York State Field Band Championships with a record-setting score of 95.05, the highest ever in their division, SS1. With this victory, the Mustangs bring the championship trophy back home after consecutive wins in 2022 and 2023.

As news of this momentous win spread, hundreds of staff, families and community members gathered at Mineola High School on Oct. 27 to welcome the state champions back from Syracuse, where the competition was held. The celebration reached a thrilling peak when the drum majors exited the bus holding the championship trophy, and the crowd erupted in cheers. Confetti flew as students and supporters shared hugs, high-fives, and photos, creating a truly festive and joyful scene.

Special congratulations go to Ken Kamping and the entire Marching Band staff. Ken’s creative vision for this year’s theme, “The Only Way Out,” came to life through his musical arrangements and tireless dedication, ensuring every performer had an exceptional experience.
